Our Story

A practice built around the questions people aged 40 actually ask

Pannawit was founded in Bangkok with a clear purpose: to offer structured, honest financial education to working adults who want to make thoughtful decisions — without being pressured into anything.

Who We Are

From a quiet question to a considered practice

Pannawit began when its founder — a tax advisor working with mid-career professionals in Bangkok — noticed a recurring pattern. Clients with steady savings and stable incomes often had little sense of what to do with their money beyond keeping it in a fixed deposit. Not because they lacked intelligence or interest, but because the available information was either too general, too sales-oriented, or simply not designed for someone in their forties navigating Thai financial institutions.

The response was practical: develop a small set of structured learning programs that addressed the specific situations Thai adults at this stage of life actually face. The first program, Understanding Investment Basics, ran in 2009 with a group of eight participants at a rented room in Phaya Thai. The response was steady and the approach proved useful, and from there the practice grew at a deliberate pace.

Today, Pannawit offers three programs — covering investment fundamentals, tax planning, and long-term scenario modelling — each designed to be taken independently or in sequence depending on where a participant is in their financial thinking. The practice remains small by design. Groups are capped, facilitators are experienced, and every program is reviewed annually against changes in Thai tax law and market conditions.

We are not a financial advisory firm and we do not sell products. Our role is educational: to give people the knowledge and frameworks to have better conversations with the banks, brokers, and advisors they already work with — or to make more informed decisions on their own.

Standards

How we maintain program quality

Annual program review

All program content is reviewed each year against current Thai Revenue Department guidelines, SET regulations, and BOT policy changes.

Small cohort policy

A maximum of eight participants per group session maintains the quality of interaction and allows each person to raise questions at their own pace.

Information confidentiality

Personal financial information shared during one-on-one sessions is treated as strictly confidential and is not retained beyond the program period.

No product recommendations

Facilitators do not receive commission from financial products and do not direct participants toward specific funds, insurance products, or institutions.

Written materials included

Every program includes printed handouts or a participant workbook. Materials are formatted for extended use, not just session reference.

Post-program feedback

Participants complete a written feedback form after each program. Responses are reviewed to identify where content or delivery can be improved.

Financial education for the 40+ generation in Thailand

The financial concerns that arise in mid and later career in Thailand are specific. Questions about how to read a mutual fund fact sheet, whether RMF contributions are worth maximising before retirement, or how to model different retirement scenarios are not well served by general personal finance content aimed at younger audiences. Pannawit's programs exist to address precisely this gap.

Our approach draws on more than fifteen years of working alongside Thai adults who hold assets, pay tax, and want to plan ahead with some clarity. The programs are not investment advice and they do not result in a managed portfolio. What they do produce is a more informed participant — someone better equipped to ask the right questions, evaluate their existing arrangements, and make changes where appropriate.

Bangkok offers extensive access to financial products. What it offers less readily is structured education about those products for people who did not study finance — and who now have both the means and the motivation to think carefully about their financial future. That is what Pannawit was built to provide.
